Hey! We’re Scott and Claire - the Founders of @wearethenorthern.
We’re partners in business and also in life! We’ve been together since we were seventeen, and have been through some pretty epic adventures over the years. We’ve supported each other through college, backpacked through eight countries, adopted two doggos, started this business and much more.
When you support @wearethenorthern, you’re supporting our little fam, plus the beautiful families that work alongside us.
Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Marketing Communications. She spent the first decade of her career working in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, where she learned the tricks of the trade working alongside some of Western Canada’s most prestigious design and marketing agencies. She has held titles such as Brand Manager, Marketing Services Manager, and more. She loves rolling up her sleeves to help organizations work through their marketing & creative goals.
Scott trained to become a Journeyman Tile Setter and then owned his own tile-setting company for ten years. Eventually his body didn’t allow him to work in that industry anymore, and so he returned back to University to complete a Bachelor of Psychology. He worked in the Social Services industry prior to joining Claire at We are the Northern (when things got too crazy for her to handle solo). Scott is exceptional at running the operations of our business, and handles all post-production work in the studio.
meet benny, our ceo
Benny has been with us since he was five months old (our HR department really gave us a hard time hiring him so young). We knew the day we met him that he’d be the one best suited for the job. He keeps us all in-line with morning meetings (mostly where we rub his belly) and with play breaks (where we relentlessly throw the ball for him).
meet max, our cfo
Max came to us as a senior dog, at the ripe age of eight. Since 2020, he has been running all things Finance here at We are the Northern. He mostly sleeps on the job, which causes some friction between him and our CEO, but they usually bark it out and the day always ends in waggy-tails and wiggle-bums.
